The Paper Princess

Listen to the shadows

That drive away the light

Listen to the darkness

of Lovely Lyra’s plight

There was an evil man

King Soren of the Guild

He stole the Lovely Lyra

And swore he’d have her killed

Locked there in the dungeon

She had a single hope

That a prince of goodly strength

Would come unbind her ropes

But he was a paper prince

And he had no sword

He had a flagon of mead

And he gave his word

He said I’ll come for you

I’ll come for you, I’ll come for you

But he never caaaaaaaaame

A gypsy told the prince

To hie upon his steed

For the lovely lady Lyra

Was anxious with her need

The prince, he signed an oath

And battle plans, he laid

But he never left his castle

To save the lady maid

He was a paper prince

And he had no sword

He had a flagon of mead

And he gave his word

He said I’ll come for you

I’ll come for you, I’ll come for you

But he never caaaaame

(bass solo)

So in the morning mist

King Soren slashed his sword

He claimed the life of Lyra

Who the paper prince ignored

He was a paper prince

And he had no sword

He had a flagon of mead

And he gave his word

He said I’ll come for you

I’ll come for you, I’ll come for you

But he never caaaaaaaame
